Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), is a potentially disabling condition that can persist throughout a person's life. The individual who suffers from OCD becomes trapped in a pattern of repititive behaviors and thoughts that are senseless and distressing but extremely difficult to overcome. It can be very mild to exceedingly severe, but if severe and left untreated, it can destroy a person's capacity to function at school, work, or even at home.

Subsequent to Sept tragedy the general public reacted to this event in a more exagerated way than would a person wth OCD. Those persons who don't have OCD would be affected by such things as white powder representing such things as Bioterror and being above the 10th floor in high rise building will make them very vulerable to terror.

Persons with OCD have a tendency to be biochemically fixated on the theme of their previous condition prior to September 11th.

Persons with OCD and other anxiety disorder tend to function somewhat more effecively when there's a crisis.
