I was struck by the final frames of the comic, when Khalid says "I just left" and walks up the stairs out of view. The silence in this moment is so heavy to me, as it is full of all that he has said up until that point in addition to all that he has yet to say. We see him walk away, yet it doesn't come off as a choice.
