1/28/17, after the announcement of Trump's executive order on immigration.
The best thing that ever happened to me was to be born a Jew. The best thing that ever happened to me was to know Christians devoted to continuing revelation within and outside of churches. The best thing that ever happened to me was to join in work and prayer with devoted Muslims and Christians in Ghana. The best thing that ever happened to me was with Rob to raise our children in a secular humanist Jewish folkshul where all, believers and atheists from every tradition, are welcome. The best thing that ever happened to me was to become a teacher with students bringing a great range of identities, origins, stories, and dreams. The best thing that ever happened to me is to live within a mesh of joy and struggle with people, friends and strangers the world over, who love life bravely and strive never to reduce others to objects in thought or in action.
