In order to continue the work of engaging multiple senses through the exhibition, I think it would be really cool if possible to have a designated “please touch” section of art pieces with interesting textures or hands-on components that would make for informative tactile experiences.
Also, I am not sure how/if this might come into play for our exhibition specifically, but one thing I was wondering today is how accessible Haverford events are in general for people who work at the college besides students and faculty. I am thinking about people like dining center workers, facilities staff, etc. Are these people every explicitly invited to or welcomed into event spaces at Haverford like gallery openings or public talks? I am wondering how (in)accessible collegiate events like these might feel for these people. Could our exhibit, given its emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity, begin to break down some of those barriers?
