Alternative Economics & Food Justice

After reading "Take Back the Market," I am particularly interested in the alternative business models that incorportate alternative currencies or exchanges such as the time bank or community supported agriculture. In high school I worked with a local farmers' market that incorporated an alternative currency to make their products more accessible and affordable to low-income families. For this project, I would be interested in learning more about these models and how they can promote food justice/security and support local businesses. A couple avenues I could follow to explore this topic include interviewing people who are involved in these systems or thinking about how to create an alternative market system for the Bryn Mawr community. 

In another but related vein, I'd also be interested in tracking the sources of the food that Bryn Mawr serves in it's dining halls. If we get locally sourced produce, I would love to talk to and interview the farmers.
