As a hopeful gender studies minor, I have a deep interest in intersectionality and its role in the day to day lives of every human. Race, gender, and sexuality are qualities that are integral to a student's idenitities and play a large part in the social atmospheres at Bryn Mawr. An interesting trend that I have noticed is that being queer (lesbian in this case) white, middle class and a cis woman at Bryn Mawr is the most accepted idenitity. I think it would be insightful to get a better understanding of what its like to be intersectional with mutliple different idenitities. I would like to see how the contact zone works at this historically all women's college with different groups and personal idenitities. Safe zones like Rainbow alliance, the ECC, Zami and other infinity groups that offer a forum for dialect but also pose a sense of isolation. The question being: how do we cross eachothers lines and truly began to love and accept people from different walks of life?
