Special Educational Needs
By: Janine Booth
You sit me on a chair that hurts
In a classroom full of noise and light
You put a pen in my wrong hand
And tell me that I have to write
You speak in terms that don't make sense
You write in symbols I can't see
You talk to everyone at once
You talk to everyone but me
To learn I need to move around
But you insist I'm statuesque
And all my mental strength's used up
On sitting silent at my desk
And when it all becomes too much
And I am screaming, you're frustrated
I'm sent home with a form that says
That I can not be educated
