This movie was so raw and so real. I couldn't help but be reminded of Wet Hot American Summer, the movie about a Jewish sleepaway camp in the 1980s. I think what stood out to me most was this hierarchy of disability that I was completely unaware of. This idea that someone with polio is higher on the disability hierarchy than someone with Cerebral Palsy is fasinating and new to think about. The interview where the man with Cerebral Palsy relayed a conversation with his mother in which she suggested he marry a woman with Polio instead of with CP was both hilarious and horrifying. I didn't think at all about the disabiltiy hierarchy within the disabled community and would love to talk more about it.
