The Frog Forebrain

picture of frog forebrain

Now we are looking at a cross-section of the forebrain of a frog.

Does this look different than what you saw in all the other forebrains???? What is similar? What is different? Go back to the human forebrain. Or go back to the monkey forebrain. Do you notice any differences in the neocortex? You may notice that there is NO neocortex in a frog. What does that mean? Do you remember what the neocortex is? Go here for a reminder.

Click on the brain for an even closer look at the cells which make up all of these brain structures. Or click on a button below for a more in-depth discussion of the structures and functions seen in this and other pictures.

I want to know more about these structures and their functions

What's the point? On towards magnification

Go back to the sagittal view of the frog brain

Huh? Can we start over?
