I just finished reading Philippe Petit's book, "Man on Wire" This text chronicles Petit's multiyear long project to perform a high wire walk across the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. There is a significant amount of autiobiographical information, including Petit's childhood passion for horseback riding. Interspersed throughout the text are black and white images of Petit, his accomplices, and the Twin Towers. Some are photographs, others are sketches and notes in Petit's own hand writing. What I liked best were the images used as background for the text This is a more seamless integration of text and images than those in graphic novels. So I'm wondering what to call this style? genre? text? Is it an autography? Maybe not. Definitely a close cousin!

Also a movie/documentary version
My mom rented a movie/documentary version of this and had me watch it over the summer. It combines actors reenacting certain events and parts of all the planning, actual news sources, home video, and commentary and insight from the people actually involved. It was both interesting and mind-boggling.
