As I am posting rather late,

As I am posting rather late, I was finding it hard to say anything that hadn't been said already. When I read the various comments I find myself agreeing with aspects of all the various sides of the table. And I while the arguements are interesting enough, I too want to ask is this useful? Given that patients respond differently to different approaches, some like to identify with a disorder, others don't want to be labeled or feel they are the "normal" ones, I think this is helpful because it gives us different approaches to understanding/coping with/ treating (in the future) mental illness. These perspectives might be somewhat like a toolbox. I think in the end you have to use the perspective that is the most useful.
