Marsha pieced together photos of words that she took in the city. The “BEING WEIRD IS COOL!” quote is from a sticker on a car, which drove pasted her when she was in the city. The words and quotes from Isaiah’s gardens are scattered in their ideas and presentation, almost making me feel as if the letters move as you read them. Marsha put the “Whatever form of expression” quote in the middle of her piece and emboldened its outline. Then surrounding that are the quotes, “Delicately poised between excessive vitality and destruction,” “Remember walking around outside this piece of fiction,” “total lack of elision,” and “a brief history of the future,” which together make me feel kaleidoscopic. Just like the garden overwhelms you visually, the words overwhelm your thoughts if you look for them, as Marsha did.
