expansions of the story teller?

Happy to continue this conversation; I learned a lot from its earlier phase. Yes, the story teller does more than just explain/account for, and some of its products can find their way into the unconscious (see the causal efficacy of consciousness/stories) but I still think its useful to distinguish the story telling activity from its products/effects. Similarly, I think its important to keep in mind that not only the stories but the story teller too is modifiable, as you have argued (see also LauraC and following). And yes, the story teller can acquire the skill of observing the interplay between itself and the unconscious, yielding more 'freedom to react to experiences in different ways." Which relates, perhaps, to our evolving definition of "mental health"?
